2 words: DARK X SUPERDALMATIAN
So.. The words are out.. 2021 was a year with a new project at Repti Diamonds, The dark superdalmatian project.
How did i came up to this idea?
Well.. everyone who is following me for some time knows my biggest project is the superdalmatian morph. I saw some darker animals passing by in the few years passed and they got my attention. But I had the superdalmatian project and I was happy to improve this project to a new level. Last year some incredible animals were born. In 2021 there was a booming avaibility on dark animals. I could not unsee that and so I bought several animals. Some with lineage, some without but insanely dark.
At second I also found some spotted ones and so the idea started.
What do I want to achieve?
Well it’s very simple. Superdalmatians, as dark as possible! Not brown, not grey but as black as it can be. As second the amount of spots is important aswell. I want them as spotted as possible, inkspot is +++.
Dream with me.. a black crested gecko overloaded with black oil-,inkspots… Just beautifull.
Some of you might think why a black crested gecko with black spots.. When they are fired up, you dont see the spots anymore.
Well.. It’s MAGIC! Imagine them being visible fired down but at fired up state you just see a very dark crested gecko. Im in love!
So well.. the goals are set.. and I’m willing to complete what I’m aiming for!
What is 2022’s plan?
Well I kept it a secret for over a year because I wanted to breed first before I made the outcome on public. So that being said.. first babies are born already! And they look promising!
The amount of spots still needs to progress alot when getting older, same as the darkness.
I had 3 dark x superdalmatian couples in 2021:
1) Rumjacks x Coccinelle -> no dark superdals born
2) Tekna x Shadow -> no dark superdals born
3) Widow x Bullet -> only yellow/brownish geckos but no darks were born
But many more are growing up and will be ready to breed next seasons.

Update 2024
I have 2 holdbacks from 2023 season from Letty x Rumjacks who are dark and have a good amount of spots (1 male and 1 female)
This year (2024) I have paired this couple:
– Widow x Devon
For next year I’m planning to pair Dahlia (if she’s ready) maybe to Rumjacks or Devon.
I also have another darker female I might be planning to pair to the other male.
Widow will get a year off or might go in retirement after this season (I dont know how old she is, but she’s still laying perfect eggs though).
Update 2025
I have 2 holdbacks from 2024 season, 1 male and 1 female from the same pairing (Widow X devon) both have a nice amount of spots combined with a nice darker based grey colour. Find them in the 2 links underneath:

This year Dahlia was ready so i paired her with Devon. I only had about 4 eggs from this pairing. I might repeat this pairing next year.
